Attendance

The schedule is such that the majority of this course’s objectives are solidified by the end of Spring Break. Thus, class meetings are critical, especially during the first half of the semester. You are expected to be on time for the start of each class, and to attend all sessions. Late arrivals (even 5 minutes) and absences will trigger a cut warning. Two or more missed classes (regardless of the circumstances) will result in a grade reduction, and four missed classes will result in a ‘D’ or lower grade.

Cut Warnings will be issued for un-notified absences, as well as for inadequate academic performance. Absences must be communicated to the professor before the beginning of the missed class to avoid a cut warning.

If a class is missed, it is your responsibility to check with peers to make up for any material covered during that class period; I will not be available for extra, make-up demonstrations or discussions pertaining to missed topics, and office hours will not be used for these purposes.

You are required to meet with each faculty member outside of class, once before midterm, and once before your final presentations, to discuss your studio work and artistic practices. Failure to do so may result in the lowering of your final grade.
